FARGO (KFGO) โ Fargo businessman Randy Thorson has proposed a potential way to keep North Dakota bars, restaurants, health clubs, theaters and other venues financially afloat following the executive order from Gov. Burgum temporarily shutting down those businesses due to the spread of coronavirus.
He wants mayors to support and asking the governor for a two-week bridge loan at 0% from the stateโs rainy day fund. He says when businesses re-open, they can pay half of the amount back. He says it might save 10-20% of the businesses that he believes wonโt survive.
Thorson, who spoke at a briefing with city leaders at Fargo City Hall Friday, is a partner in restaurants and bars in three states, employing more than 800 people.
