The Mountrail County 4-H team took first place in the senior division and Foster County’s 4-H team placed first in the junior division of the North Dakota state 4-H livestock judging contest, which was held in North Dakota State University’s Shepperd Arena.
The contest was made up of 20 junior, one open, and 17 senior teams judging cattle, swine, goats, and sheep.
The first place senior division team from Mountrail County was made up of Calli Hennessy, Mariah Braasch, Fletcher Hennessy, Morgan Vachal, Logan Lapica, Ty Fladeland, Kyra Fox, Kash Lee, and Jacob Littlefield.
The first place junior division team from Foster County consisted of Molly Hansen, Isabel Wendel, Kadence Spickler, Jessa Spickler, Cally Hansen, Watson Spickler, Cyrena Kuss, Hayleigh Spickler, and Trace Spickler.
Other teams in the senior division were; Adams County (2nd place), Stutsman County (3rd place), Foster County (4th place), and Oliver County (5th place).
The other teams in the junior division were; McHenry County (2nd place), Adams County (3rd place), Stark-Billings County (4th place), and Grant County (5th place).
