FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Former Vice President Joe Biden has been endorsed by Heidi Heitkamp.
Heitkamp, a former U.S. Senator from North Dakota, said her decision was not difficult.
Much like the former vice president, Heitkamp said “I’m a moderate conservative, that’s the side of the party that I think needs to be presented to the public in this next election, and the person left in the race who is best to carry the banner is Joe Biden.”
Heitkamp says if Biden wins Michigan and Washington in Tuesday’s primaries and caucuses, it’s likely Sen. Bernie Sanders will have to re-evaluate and decide if he can win.
Heitkamp says it’s time for Democrats to clear the path for Biden, “sooner than later.”
