The North Dakota Agriculture Projects Utilization Commission awards seven projects announced Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
The APU is a program of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture which administers grant programs for research and development of new and expanded uses for ND ag products.
The grant can be used towards basic and applied research, marketing and utilization, farm diversification, nature-based agritourism, prototype and technology, and technical assistance.
- Cows and Co. Creamery to develop an on-farm creamery/dairy
- Tim Moch to conduct a feasibility study for a new meat plant in Edgeley
- Shepards Industries for marketing assistance for fiber products produced in conjunction with the Nome Schoolhouse and combine fiber mill and felting companies
- In the Potter’s Hand Inc. for website design and a marketing campaign with a redesign of manufacturing.
- Two Track Malting, LLC to work with a marketing agency to promote a new line of brewski malt products.
- Gideons Brewing Company to develop a marketing campaign to increase sales volume and amount of North Dakota malt they purchase.
- Prairie Products, LLC to make finishing touches on and implement a marketing plan developed for them.
The next application hearing will be on May 20-21, 2020 in Grafton.
Applications for the May meeting must be received to the NDDA by April 1, 2020.
Prototype and technical assistance applications must be received by the NDDA by June 1, 2020, for the July 21-22, 2020 meeting.
