The Severance Dairy Farm of Dickey receives the Commissioner’s Award of Dairy Excellence during the 2020 North Dakota Dairy Convention.
The Severance Dairy Farm is run by Kyle and Heather Severance and their five children.
The Severances are currently milking 60 cows, mostly jerseys.
The family built their dairy barn in 2016 and also have stock cows and run a seed and agronomy business.
Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring says the Severances have a remarkable inspection record and have consistently exceeded requirements for somatic cell counts, bacteria counts and farm inspection scores.
They have been a Grade A dairy farm since they started operation.
