Even though he was out of town during the snowfall, Mayor of Moorhead Jonathan Judd wanted to know what the real world experience of cleaning up the snow felt like.
Enter Juan. Juan drives a snow plow for the City of Moorhead and spent six afternoon into late evening hours showing Mayor Judd just what the clean up process looks like. Originally, Judd had planned to ride for the full 12 hours, but mechanical failure on the truck kept the truck from rolling the entire shift.

Mayor Judd has always respected the work that the plow drivers have done, but his appreciation for the patience is a benefit from his experience.
Urging residents to keep children from playing on snow piles in cul de sacs or areas where plowing is taking place as well as moving vehicles off the street.
From Mayor Judd
“Got back in town tonight from a Christmas visit with family to do a six hour late night snow plow ridealong with Juan, one of our snow plow operators. Thank you to Juan and all members of our Moorhead Public Works snow removal team for their hard work in the last 48 hours.
I learned a lot from the ridealong this evening regarding the significant impacts on our community and the Public Works department from our recent snow event. Please know that Public Works Director Steve Moore and his dedicated team are working hard to safely clear the neighborhood streets as soon as they can. If there are areas that need serious attention, please don’t hesitate to email or call Public Works at 218.299.5422.
Also, please plan to attend the next “Coffee with the Mayor and Council” in January as the topic of snow removal will come up for discussion.
Good night (or morning) everyone! 😊
