Tis the season for opening your giving…if the amount of postcards in your mailbox didn’t already tell you.
Patrick Kirby of Do Good Better Consulting and author of Fundraise Awesomer joins IT2 with some insight into year end giving.
Did you know that a late Thanksgiving combined with a midweek Christmas and New Years put an extremely difficult pinch on non-profits? That’s right! Even the most organized groups can find that the shortened holiday season can make it difficult to collect those much needed end of the year dollars.
You will also find that changes to the tax code have also changed the game. Tax credit bundling will, undoubtably, hurt those organizations who count on a gift every year. Instead, the new tax laws allow a single time donation and the benefits stretched over several tax years. Money is coming in, just not consistently.
Patrick’s book is worth a read – even if you don’t run a non-profit. You can find his book and contact info
