Time once again to turn back the hands of time and see what was happening across this country of ours with a look at the newspapers of 100 years ago. November 20th 1919.
A couple of these stories are “slugged” Nov. 19th but appeared in the Nov. 20th paper.
First up from the Seattle Star, In the old days kids, you’d have to literally crank your car from outside of the vehicle to get it started. But be careful…you may have left it in gear!!!
From a Toledo paper from Nov. 20th, as long as your robbing the place why not have a bite to eat.
Out of the Washington Herald, it’s a story from Iowa of a young girl who was robbed of 2 dollars but years but the robber tried to right his sin…in a BIG-BIG way
From Baltimore: you remember all the stories of returning library books decades after they were checked out. How about this guy who forgot to mail a letter….for 14 years!
Didn’t he ever wash that coat…or put it on in 14 years??
Any comments, I’d love to hear from you at bob.harris@mwcradio.com
