The voice of sports himself, Jack Michaels, stops into the KFGO studios to share some stories about “The Kissing Bandit” a major league baseball darling from decades ago.
Morganna, The Kissing Bandit, ran across the field of a Major League Baseball game in 1969 and planted a kiss on Pete Rose’s cheek. After that, more than three decades of The Kissing Bandit found their way into the hearts of many and a part of baseball history.
“During that era, you really knew that you had become a baseball super star when The Kissing Bandit planted one on your cheek,” says IT2 host JJ Gordon.
She branched out into basketball, football and hockey – but baseball was her favorite. Morganna retired from running the bases in 2000 after 19 arrests, a busted knee cap and multiple other ailments. She now lives the quiet life and rarely grants interviews.
