Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 cup guava paste*
- 6 Tbsp Apple Cider vinegar
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup dark rum
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp ketchup
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp minced onion
- 1 Tbsp minced peeled fresh ginger
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 jalapeno, minced
* Try to get the can and not the box, if possible.
In a medium, non reactive pot, add all ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Continue to simmer for around 15 minutes, uncovered. Then remove from heat, allow to cool completely, and store in refrigerator.
