Hurricane Dorian is an unusual storm. The heavy hitter moved up through the Bahamas and is extremely…slow. Yes, moving at 1 to 2mph, Dorian is a devastating storm because the pummeling winds and driving rains arrive and never see, to leave. It just hangs there.
With winds nearly 200mph and a lot of rain, Dorian is a mighty storm that threatens a lot of damage along the eastern seaboard of the United States.
Chief Meteorologist Tom Szymanski is asked, “Will this storm effect the weather in the Upper Midwest?”
The simple answer is yes – but not in the way you think. The power and size of Dorian will keep other storms from forming that would reach our neck of the woods. Keeping airflows out of whack make trickle effects in our area.
