#ClearTheLists
The #clearthelist social media campaign has gained national – and celebrity! – attention. The campaign is spreading the word of teachers “wish lists” and asking people to help them buy supplies for the upcoming school year.
Nick Archuleta, of ND United, says the teaching profession is the only one that needs to rely on charity to get what they need to get the job done. And, while we appreciate all of these efforts… this is a good time to reflect on whether or not we are doing enough to fund education.
Project-based Learning
Archuleta also points out that as teaching techniques evolve, the need for new and more materials is inevitable. Kids are being encouraged to explore ideas outside of books and transpose learning into physical activities they can do to solve real world problems. And, a lot of the items on the lists are reflecting that idea… legos, robot kits, books, etc.
