In the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a bunch of locals rappelling off of the Black Building in downtown Fargo!
This is the third time CHARISM has taken over a a full block on Broadway for their signature “Over the Edge” event. Local leaders, media and fundraisers will gather on August 8th to harness up and head down the outside of the Black Building. A thrilling day for those who scale the side of the building (Jim Monk used the word “ants” to describe the people watching from high above Broadway) and something out of the ordinary for the hundreds who gather to watch.

James Nagbe from CHARISM joined Amy Iler and JJ Gordon during It Takes Two to spread the word about this unique downtown day. One of the major fundraisers that CHARISM holds every year – the money raised goes to support the programs CHARISM offers all year round.
“CHARISM is a neighborhood-based non-profit in Fargo, North Dakota, offering relationship-based, skill-building programs for low-income and New American children and their families. CHARISM addresses poverty in the community by providing youth enrichment programming, including afterschool mentoring and tutoring programs for elementary school children, in-school programs at the middle and high schools, and summer daycamps, as well as community outreach, including a supplemental food program and community-building events. CHARISM partners with over 50 other organizations and businesses to bring quality programs to the youth and families we work with, including the Fargo Public Schools, Fargo Park District, Fargo Police Department, Great Plains Food Bank, local colleges and universities, and many others. We overcome the barrier of transportation by offering our programs inside the neighborhoods that need us most and create lasting connections for long-term change.”
