Every once in awhile we look back at see what was in the newspapers 100 years, Aug, 2nd 1919!
First up one of the greatest pitchers in baseball Walter Johnson sets another record in baseball. It happened on July 10th but for some reason the Washington Times didn’t find out about it until the Aug. 2nd issure.
:Prohibition was in full swing but one lawmaker wanted to expand the amendment. If you were an American you couldn’t drink anywhere…IN THE WORLD! Not sure if it passed….
And a little girl about pain in her leg. It felt like something
“wrapped” around it. Like Gomer Pyle used to say “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise”
That a look as just a few of the stories in the newspapers from 100 years ago. If you have any comments from free to drop me a note at Bob.harris@kfgo.com.
Thanks and hope you enjoyed it…we’ll do it again soon.
