The smell of kettle corn, the sounds of a pan flute and thousands of people flocking to downtown Fargo – it must be Street Fair week!
Melissa Rademacher and her team at the Downtown Community Partnership have been working and planning the 2019 fair since last year and they have worked up a doozy. A mixture of old and new, traditional and changes, fresh and classic all describe the vibe of this year’s Downtown Fargo Street Fair.
Let’s start with vendors – so many that a waiting list has been in place for awhile. Some folks have been coming for 30 plus years while others are making their first appearance. For example, check out the German pretzel and beer truck that is as much about the heritage of the German people as a great spot to grab a snack and a drink.
Parking – Never fear, LINKFM is here. Matbus is providing FREE shuttle service from the Moorhead Center Mall parking lot to the street fair. Plenty of parking and the shuttle runs every five minutes. You can also find great parking in the Island Park ramp as well as the RoCo Garage. Unless you are trying to park an 18 wheeler, downtown has you covered for convenient and close parking.
Live Music – Local theater productions, like Trollwood and FMCT, will be performing on a brand new stage setup just off of 4th ave North in the Broadway Garage lot. In the evening, you will find the Amped School of Music Showcase, Charlie Parr, Brother Ali and more. Make plans to eat, drink and be merry as the street fair invites you to make a day AND evening out of your downtown adventure.
Food – We don’t need to sell you on all the delicious options. Favorites like cheese curds can be found next to stalls featuring food from around the world, fresh squeezed lemonade and more. Look for the grub on 4th Ave, just east of Broadway – or you can follow your nose.
Open Container – Use the map below to see where you are allowed to bring your adult beverage during the street fair. NOTE: Keep your ID on you at all times. Don;t spoil the trust for everyone!
