(Minneapolis, MN) – The wrongful death lawsuit settlement between the city and a woman shot to death by a Minneapolis police officer has been approved. Justine Ruszczyk Damond was killed two years ago.
A Hennepin County District judge approved the deal which awards the family $18-million, plus an additional $2-million to be donated to the Fund for Safe Communities.
Former officer Mohamed Noor was convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in an April trial.
