Ever since I was a young disc jockey spinning rock n’ roll at a local FM station, I was and still am, a Steve Martin fan.
We would have Steve Martin look-a-like contests, with people appearing in white suits, carrying a banjo, and having an arrow through their head. (I even had one of those). Scream at the top of their lungs “I am a WILD AND CRAZY GUY”.
Steve was here at Bluestem with fellow funny man Martin Short recently and it reminded me of two Steve Martin comedy classics. One I still laugh at to this day from his album “Let’s Get Small” it’s simply called “The Plumber’s Joke”
The other is from a Tonight Show appearance when he told Johnny Carson he had to leave…I think Johnny was surprised at what happened next.
