Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park
Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, established in 1907 is the oldest state park in North Dakota and provides great opportunities for you to take a peek back in time. About a 3 hour drive from Fargo, if you are up for a road trip, this is definitely one you won’t regret.
General George Custer’s last home is reconstructed, as are the central barracks, granary, commissary and a stable. And, guided tours will take you back to 1875, the year before the 7th Cavalry rode to the Little Bighorn. You can also tour On-A-Slant Indian Village’s – five reconstructed earthlodges.
Custer House “30 Year Celebration”
Saturday July 6, 2019 is the the 30th year celebration of the Custer home. There will be a re-dedication of the home, food trucks, music and more.

Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site
This site is located just outside of Cooperstown, ND and about an half and half drive from Fargo.
(As Fred notes, perfect for a stop at Soholt Bakery in Mayville, ND!)
While there, explore two sites telling the story of the Cold War years in North Dakota: Oscar-Zero Missile Alert Facility and the November-33 Launch Facility. They are the last remnants of the 321st Missile Wing, a cluster of intercontinental ballistic missile launch sites that were spread over a 6,500-square-mile area.
