Special Olympics athletes from across North Dakota will come to Fargo to compete in the Summer Games this weekend.
“Spectators! We consider that a volunteer role because many of the people we serve don’t have family support,” says Kathy Meagher, President and CEO of Special Olympics North Dakota.

Who is Special Olympics North Dakota?
There are more than 1,500 athletes in North Dakota, 15 sports available for participants, 300 coaches, 5,000 statewide volunteers, and 60 statewide competitions annually.
Special Olympics is leading voice in raising awareness about abilities of
people with intellectual disabilities. And, anyone in attendance can see that the sporting events showcase skills and dignity of the athletes!
Support the Athletes
Here is the schedule:
– Thursday, June 6, 6:30 pm, the parade of athletes down Broadway in Fargo begins
– The Opening Ceremony will follow at the Fargo Civic Center following the parade of athletes. Fans are welcome and encouraged to attend
– Actual games begin Friday, June 7, @ 10:00 am at Davies High School and conclude Saturday, June 8 at Fargo South High School
