Scouring the pages of the newspapers of 100 years ago, May 29th, 1919,
First up: The Daily Capital Journal of Eugene Oregon. Bank robbers give the bank employees an option. Get locked in a vault, or swear on a bible you wont call the cops! Here’s what they did!
From the papers of New York City, the hunt was on for FOUR escaped circus elephants, but thank goodness, some bananas and peanuts brought them out of the woods!
From the Washington Herald, one of leading actresses of the time was Mary Pickford. An adoring fan sent her a package, with a really different kind of present!
And from the Arizona Republican on the May 29th, 1919 edition on page 16. this story, was printed on page 16 not once, not twice, but three times. Must be cushy cushions! Couldn’t print the whole page because of size but you’ll have to trust me!
