The impact of houseplants
It was discovered (by NASA!) that a condition called “sick building syndrome” could be battled with houseplants.
Sick building syndrome was linked to computers, carpeting and furniture in your office or home. And, more specifically, chemicals these items emit. The good news: the toxic chemicals can be removed with the presence of plants!

Feeling good around plants is probably not surprising. After all, we surround ourselves with plants during celebrations and tragedies (i.e., weddings and funerals, respectively). We also set aside “sacred” green space for parks and community gardens in our cities and communities.
So, maybe it makes sense that plants are our “go-to” gift when we don’t know what else to buy. Ultimately, we are purchasing one of the most thoughtful gifts.
