FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Plans are underway for new businesses in the former Best Buy building at 1615 38th St. S in Fargo.
Applications for building permits have been submitted to the city inspections department.
Foss Swim School, a family-owned chain, based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota plans a $1.5 million remodel of 9,800 sq. ft. in the former Best Buy. It will include a swimming pool and other amenities. Foss has 8 locations in the Twin Cities and six schools in the Chicago area. It is also expanding into Iowa and Missouri.
Boot Barn, which already has a retail store in West Acres Mall, has also submitted a building permit for remodeling space in the former Best Buy building. The permit does not offer details on the size and cost of the fit-up. Both businesses will lease space from West Acres, Adjacent Property, LLC, the property owner.
City Inspections Administrator Bruce Taralson says the permit application has not identified a contractor and approved revisions will be needed.
Best Buy moved to a new location in the former Sears in the shopping center last June leaving the store vacant.
