The prince of pruning, the duke of dandelions, the lord of the lawn – Mr. Dave Decock is in studio taking calls from listeners about their gardening and plant care questions.
In this episode:
A caller inquires about some serious hail damage a row of apple trees received this year. Dave gets deep into the quality of the bark surrounding the wounded areas and gives some advice on the heartiness of those trees.
Another caller says he picked up a Red Delicious apple tree from a big box store – unfortunately, those are not zoned for our area. Dave makes some great recommendations and suggests returning the tree for another.
Remember folks – just because they sell it, doesn’t mean we can grow it!
More calls about grass seed and the clock ticking down for being able to allow for cooler and moist growing conditions.
