Square Foot Gardening
The square foot gardening method has been around for over 40 years. And, as Brian explains, it is an efficient and easy way to be a successful gardener!

Efficient Gardening
“Why are we trying to be micro-farmers?” says Fuder. With square foot gardening, you are setting yourself up for success every time. And, in some cases, you are literally “up”… as these are raised gardens.
The basics
To start, Fuder says he uses 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 compost and 1/3 peat moss. Square foot gardening can be started with some simple 2×4’s on the ground, or in raised beds for easier access.
The good news of the day: Brian Fuder will be spending every Friday out at Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, MN to work with the residents on their first square gardens!
