Hi, my name is Amy and I’m a cart abandoner.
(Disclaimer: I’m not sure that’s actually a word.)
I love to shop online… but, that is usually where is stops. Shopping. I don’t buy. I spend a significant amount of time “filling up” carts and abandoning them. Sometimes coming back to find the cart has “timed out”, other times to make changes and abandon again. All the time contemplating if I REALLY need it or if I can find a better deal.
So, I thought this was an embarrassing problem that probably warranted some kind of therapy… until I read this headline: “83% of eCommerce Customers Never Buy the Stuff in Their Cart”.
What!?! So, where my peeps at?
Look at us over here being all hard-to-get.
We are the mystery shoppers of the eCommerce world. I say: Let’s keep this going. Why not? The best case scenario is retailers figure out to get us to check-out… that might be cheaper than whatever kind of therapy we need. Ha!
(In an effort to be transparent, here is a real life screenshot of my Amazon cart… yep, 89 items waiting to be bought! HAHA.)
