We’ve changed some things up this week. JJ has TWO Skip Its. He didn’t like either Pokemon’s Detective Pikachu or the gender swapped comedy The Hustle. Pikachu is made for fans of the games and trading cards, but it’ll be a hard sell to anyone else.
Just so you have something to watch, JJ does REALLY like the Netflix original series Dead to Me.

The Netflix series Dead to Me is ushering in a new genre of television. The “traumedy” mixes the trauma of losing a loved one with some dark, but very funny, comedy. Christina Appelgate and Linda Cardellini keep you on your toes with one of the most captivating shows we’ve seen in a long time. Be ready to laugh and gasp!

Detective Pikachu is made for the fans of Pokemon. Parents and movie goers without any advanced knowledge of the series will be lost…immediately. It’s a noir detective film set in a world with strange evolving animals. Your kids will want to wear their Pokemon pajamas to the theater. You should too, you’ll be napping 20 minutes in.

The Hustle is a gender swapped remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from 1988. This movie lacks chemistry, consistent laughs and comes in short on excitement. Two con women, of various backgrounds, team up and steal two hours of your time along with $15 for the ticket. Pass.
Save yourself the time and watch the FAR SUPERIOR original with Steve Martin and Michael Caine. Its over 30 years old, but still feels fresh and fun. Streaming right now on Amazon Prime!
