It might be a sign of age, but when a new movie premieres, that has the world buzzing about it, I can wait a couple of weeks.
“Avengers Endgame” brought in more that 60 MILLION dollars opening day Thursday April 25th. That’s one day! Around the clock screenings during at least the opening weekend! It could be (probably will be) the biggest opening ever for a film!
Tickets are being purchased weeks in advance. Cars were parked in adjacent lots and in open fields.
People came dressed in costume of their favorite character. (ask Derek Hanson of our staff)
It doesn’t matter what you think of concession prices because at a movie like this…who cares! It’s a great business weekend for local theaters showing this movie!
It’s a personal thing, but sitting there being “elbowed” every time there’s an explosion, or when someone enters a dark room forgetting that they could turn on a light. It always happens when I have handful of popcorn, BOOM, instead of my mouth in lands in the lap of the person on the other side of me. It’s happened to all of us. Or you’ll end up with someone trying to guess what will happen next. But they want everyone around them to know too.
And how about that guy who lays back in those great lounger chairs and falls asleep…maybe even snores! It’s happened!
Please don’t get me wrong! I will see this movie, in a couple of weeks. It will probably be a matinee and on a weekend.
I will see any movie the a trailer gets me interested in…just not in a crowd.
There’s just something still very special about seeing a motion picture on the big screen.
See you at the movies!
