Wednesday, April 10, 2019 – With already above-normal snowfall statistics for this season, it’s hard to stomach the storm coming our way in the second week of April.
Fargo/Moorhead and surrounding areas
could see 6-12 inch accumulatio
n
with high winds, and the snowfall totals could increase as you go south.
In this podcast: National Weather Service Hydrologist Amanda Lee says this is good news when factoring this into the flood fight.
Because the river has already seen it’s crest and has even dropped over the last few days, Lee says she doesn’t expect this snowfall to cause an additional crest at the same levels.
However, the melt will take longer and flood stage could stay at higher levels for a longer period of time.
