KINDRED, N.D. (KFGO) – Cass County Engineer Jason Benson is advising rural homes northwest and northeast of Kindred to be prepared for possible overland flooding.
The warm weekend temperatures led to heavy runoff into the Sheyenne River near Kindred which was expecting a crest of 20 feet. That crest has now been increased a foot and a half higher, which will likely overtop roads, including Highway 46 west of Kindred, pushing water into area’s that were not expected to see overland flooding.
Benson says Kindred should be pretty well protected against the crest which is expected late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
