This is the official write up of the 2019 Winner of “Best Hotdish” at the first ever Fargo Hotdish Festival…
“Alex’s Swiss Mountainside Hotdish
In a conversation between Alex Belquist and Chef Judd Eskildsen about the hotdish, Alex began daydreaming about ‘tending to his cows on a Swiss mountainside’ while describing to Judd the directions he wanted to go with the hotdish. The dish is not vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. It’s got all the beef, butter, heavy cream and all of the alpine cheese. Truly midwestern!”
The gentlemen know that you want the taste of your grandmother’s recipes with some twist and flair. That’s exactly what they are serving up!

Wahpeton residents have already enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the City Brew Hall and in the next year, 701 will open at the former site of Rosie’s Laundry in north Fargo. Plus, a location that makes some darn good chicken that will be delivering to the local breweries. Some serious game changers here!
