Bruce Bekkerus is a walking encyclopedia concerning cars/trucks/engines.
IN THIS EPISODE
Bruce takes a few text messages and a whole heap of calls from listeners who are curious about the best way to clear impacted snow from underneath their vehicles, how to replicate a problem with a starter (hint: make an appointment and drop off the car the night before so they get a fresh look in the morning), mileage going down significantly when using E85 and what to do if you accidentally put mixed gas into your fuel tank.
Bruce also has some tips for folks as we hit “that part of winter.”
For example, revving up your car when the tires are slipping and trying to get traction is dangerous and can do some serious damage to your axel and the small bearings near the wheels. Use a slow start and have some patience, it will save you big bucks.
Bruce also gives a HUGE thumbs up to a simple battery tender that will save you a lot of headache the next time a vehicle isn’t going to be used for a spell.
Listen every 2nd Monday of the month from 1-2pm to “The Mechanic Is In” on KFGO 790 AM & 94.1 FM.
