Fargo Superintendent Rupak Gandhi explains making calls on a “snow day” is tough – they weigh a lot of factors.
Even the climatologists and meteorologists he’s working with will tell him the best and most accurate forecast is going to be closer to the time when the weather is expected. However, having to be timely with staff and students is important, so often times it’s the best guess at the time – and learning from your experiences.
As for making up the days… Fargo Public Schools will make up days on April 22, 2019 and May 10, 2019. Gandhi also notes there was a 2-hour delay that may need to be “made-up” but that hasn’t been determined yet.
