It’s “Foodie Friday” with a twist… it’s not a recipe, or new food trend to try, rather we caught up with Pastor Sue from Churches United for the Homeless to talk about the daunting task of serving nearly 100,000 meals every year!
(With only 1.5 full time employees in the kitchen!)
Churches United for the Homeless serves hot meals each day during the year, and with the frigid weather upon us, Pastor Sue says there is even more need.
She says, “It’s always good food, it’s always hot and made with love.”
In addition to volunteers in the kitchen, she says their immediate needs include: bus passes, warm adult gloves, hand warmers, new underwear, alcohol-free cough medicine and throat lozenges.
