We’re only a few weeks away from one of the biggest football parties of the year and the #1 concern for hosts – “What to serve?”
You can put chips in a bowl and a fridge full of beer in the garage, but if you want to up your game, take some of these tips from the fine folks at Prime Cut Meats. Their top tip is this – “No one wants to be stuck in the kitchen. Pick items you can put in a crockpot and enjoy the party!”
WING DING
How about taking your chicken wing game up a bit? Kevin from Prime Cut Meats suggests trying “Pork Wings” or also known as pork shanks. These double bone pork pieces look similar to a chicken wing, but pack the flavor punch of pork. you can add buffalo sauce, dip them in ranch or add a dry rub for an extra kick. Easy to prepare – all you need to do is drop them into a slow cooker and check on them a few hours later.

THAT’S A GOOD MEATBALL
Meatballs are a staple of any football gathering. Whether you are a toothpick household or a pretzel stick place, you can up your game with a sauce that will have guests asking for the recipe. Grape Jelly Meatballs. Yep, you read that right. It’s simple. Combine a jar of grape jelly and your favorite BBQ sauce. It should be sort of lumpy. Add a bag of fully cooked frozen beef meatballs into a slow cooker and pour the sauce over the top. Set to low. Three hours later, you have a meatball that is sweet and savory. JJ’s suggestion. Add some diced jalapenos to the jelly sauce mixture to add some heat!
EASY CHEESE
Spreadable cheese! It’s delicious Wisconsin cheese with additions like Garlic, Bacon, etc. Use it on crackers, fancy bologna sandwiches and more. You’ll be surprised how quickly the entire tub empties out when you pass it around the room.
