Foodie Fridays can take an odd turn every now and then – this one is definitely one of the most interesting! A great friend of It Takes Two, Chef Randall Tongues bustled into the studio with a giant bag and rubber gloves. He produced two small plates and provided Amy Iler and JJ Gordon with some grapes. Not your everyday grapes, these were special.
The green grapes are known as “Cotton Candy Grapes” because, well, they taste like cotton candy. And the taste does not disappoint! If you’re like JJ, you’ll be instantly transported back to watching the circus with a huge pink ball of candy floss. An interesting way to get kids excited about eating fruit?!?!
The oblong purplish grape resembles a cocoon or an elongated eggplant, known as Sweet Sapphires. Similar to a red grape and very juicy, these are much larger – so it’s like you are getting two grapes in one bite!
