Bruce talks about getting your vehicle ready for winter. Taking some time to walk around your car and do some simple inspections can save you a lot of hassle down the road.
TIRES – Check the driver’s door inside panel for the correct inflation for your tires. Rear tires may be different from front and ensuring that you have the proper inflation can save you money and keep your car running safe on the ice.
LIGHTS – Make sure all of the lights are bright and lit. If you have foggy headlamps, Bruce recommends that you swap them out instead of using a buff cloth or something you saw on TV at 4am. Thanks to the flood of aftermarket parts, replacing the headlamp can be a fraction of the cost it used to be.
BATTERY – Get a load test done to see how well the battery is holding a charge before the nights get colder. You can also ask about the wires and whether or not they are in good shape., Corrosion is the #1 enemy of batteries – both new and old.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES – Is your ABS light on? You might put that off, but one day you are going to need that stopping aid as you start sliding towards a red light!
