Consumer Reports has released a report detailing some shocking findings concerning the levels of heavy elements, or commonly called heavy metals, in packaged baby food products.

James Dickerson, Chief Scientific Officer for Consumer Reports urges consumers not to panic, but be aware that these trace elements have been found. Consumer Reports hopes that this study puts pressure on the FDA as well as the companies themselves to take action and regulate the products we are feeding infants and small children.

All the products researched tested positive for at least one of the following heavy metals Cadmium, Inorganic Arsenic and Lead and more than two/thirds of the tested food had readings with a worrisome amount of one heavy metal.
