Joshua Boschee, Democratic candidate for ND Secretary of State, joins It Takes 2 to discuss West Virginia’s mobile voting.
West Virginia will become the
first state to allow
overseas troops to vote via blockchain technology.
The world is changing. Elections are changing. The way you vote…might be changing. West Virginians serving overseas will have a new opportunity to cast their vote this November and it’s as 21st century as it comes. They will allow military personnel to vote via a secured online method that promises to be more reliable than using a postal delivery service. Although, some have questioned about how secure the new format is – especially in light of the fact that Russian interference is being investigated over the 2016 presidential election.
Joshua Boschee
, who is currently running for ND’s Secretary of State, lays out the information concerning privacy and piracy (the new system has ties to cryptocurrency technology) as well as what it could mean for ND counties that have suspended use of a polling place.
Times, they are a-changing – but the hope is this new technology may help increase voter turnout.
