In 2013, a neighborhood favorite united life long friends in Valley City, ND who decided…it’s time for a World Series of Wiffleball. Yep, the hollow white ball with holes drilled into it gets a full day of game play to decide the world champion. 
Five years later, this the WBWS has become a favorite of folks from Bismarck to Fargo to the bustling metropolis of Fredrick, SD. 16 teams will be competing in the 2018 Wiffle Ball World Series and the creators don’t see the excitement slowing down anytime soon.
They have constructed a specialty stadium that takes up, roughly, the space of a back yard – but comes complete with striping, outfield fence and a home plate.

Clearly, this is a sport for kings and jesters. The competition is as serious as the MLB World Series, but there are a lot more smiles and laughs. Bring the whole family and get a seat near a team dugout.
Be prepared to cheer, the organizers arranged an Elvis impersonator and a 48 foot American flag for the national anthem. This event is also an opportunity to support a community member who lost his life in a lawn mowing accident, the Todd Heck Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of a good friend of the Wiffle Ball League and the proceeds from this year’s event will help build the endowment in memory of Todd Heck.
