IN THIS PODCAST: Kevin Gorder joins IT2 for an end-of-July road construction update.
With some rain and some surprises, Gorder says the University drive project is on “phase 3” of the project and a bit behind and won’t be wrapped up before the school season.
Here are the spots you should know about:
Sheyenne from I94 south to 32nd Avenue –
Gorder says, “this will be a huge impact… and the city of West Fargo will be working from I94 north to 13th Avenue in the same corridor.” Gorder says this will be an extensive 2 year project.
University Drive, just north of I94, to 18th Ave. South –
Gorder says they will, “reconnect the ramps, straighten them out, try to get some turn lanes in there to get traffic flow better, put in some access control medians in the middle for safety”. Gorder says the project should take about 3-4 months”
10th Street North, between 4th & 12th Ave. North –
Gorder notes that this section of roadway will be CLOSED and drivers will have to detour to University, where traffic will be head-to-head.
I94 & Main Ave. in West Fargo –
The loop ramp to eastbound I94 will CLOSE for the summer for more permanent bridge repairs, which will cause a 2.5 mile detour.
