Plant Talk with Dave Decock – the king of all things green, the master of mulch, the prince of pruning – well, you get it. Dave answers questions from listeners by phone, by text and by email. This episode contains a lot about rhubarb, accidentally killing parts of your lawn, getting super sized onions a new pest to our area known as the spotted-wing drosophilia fruit fly. If you have raspberry bushes, you should definitely listen!
The phones were ringing off the hook with questions for Dave this week.
Mel wanted some tips on how to get his onions to grow larger than golf ball size.
Gary was curious about when should the last harvest of the year be for his wild asparagus.
David accidentally killed off some of his lawn when he grabbed the wrong spray can and needs to know how long to wait before attempting to reseed. which is similar to Jared’s question about cleaning up an acre of land and getting some good growth established instead of quackgrass.
Mary had a double question regarding harvesting rhubarb and picking her wild asparagus to ensure that it will keep coming back.
All of this and more on the May 31st, 2018 edition of ‘Plant Talk.’
