An update from Chris Newberry, a Minneapolis-based filmmaker about the documentary he’s working on about Jacob Wetterling’s abduction.
Newberry said he was initially interested in telling the story of how the abduction touched so many people, in so many ways.
And, while that is still a main theme of the film, Newberry started filming the week Danny Heinrich had been named a “person of interest” in Wetterling’s abduction.
Two of the main “characters” will be Patty & Jerry Wetterling, Jacob’s parents. It was vital, Newberry says, to have their blessing for the film.
They have been filming for 2 years and plan to film for another year with a goal of having the film finished by 2019.
