Luke Beneke is the IT guy at the KFGO studios. Windows will be releasing a new update soon, so Amy Iler and JJ Gordon asked Luke for some tips on updates. Wait? Right away? Unplug the printer? You get it all right here on “It Takes Two with Amy & JJ”

Tips:
Back Up Your Files
Luke suggests doing full backup once a month. Hard drive failure is the leading cause of computer stress. This is how you lose family photos, music and the (gulp) final exam paper that you have been working on all year!
Clear Up Some Space
Have at least 5 gigabytes (more like 10 if you can spare the space) before the update takes place. These updates need space on your hard drive to correctly install. Give it plenty of space so you don’t run out in the middle of an installation.
Update Before You Start Having Problems
Folks will wait until months after an update comes out with the hope that all the glitches and problems will be patched up before they actually take the leap. Unfortunately, apps and software are updated to meet the needs/parameters of the new operating system. Updating sooner than later will keep your phone/computer from crashing.
