While there are no “official guidelines” about when to schedule your skin exam, Dr. Ryan Holzwarth, Sanford Dermatologist, says it’s good to go and get a baseline check.
And, if you have any moles or spots, it’s good to go as soon as possible. Skin cancers, even melanoma, if caught early can be 99% treatable!

And, as we approach summer, remember to wear your sunscreen!
A few quick tips: There is no such thing as a “base tan” & remember to reapply sunscreens every 2 hours!
If you are sensitive or allergic to sunscreens, try the ones that have zinc oxide and titanium oxide in them. They will be less likely to cause an allergic reaction.
