In This Podcast: Barb Spiekermeier, the winner of the 29th-annual Coors Light Chili Cook-off.
She was representing The Fargo Elks Club in the contest. She won $300.00! Jack Sunday, Amy Iler, Cally Musland, and chef instructor Randall Toenges were judges.
We spoke with Barb about her methodology, (“just the basics.”) Her secret ingredients, (she said it wasn’t taco seasoning.) She said that her husband helps, (“needs something.”)
She uses fresh ground beef, a spicy pork sausage and chuck roast. We think she said something about “jalapeno juice.” She did admit to “using beer.” We asked if she included it in the chili too.
