As Valentine’s Day approaches, the worry over what to do, where to go, and what to buy becomes more intense (and annoying?). But, I promise, you can fix that without disappointing your significant other (or yourself, if you’re single).
Yes, I have a no fail, will work EVERY YEAR, Valentine’s Day idea – for those single or in a relationship…
MAKE A TRADITION.
From the beginning of my relationship with my now-husband, I told him, “every Valentine’s Day, I want a heart-shaped pizza and a 6 pack of beer”. And, every year, I’ve got a heart-shaped pizza and a 6 pack of beer. I know, it’s not real exciting, but it works for us. We know what we’re doing and we don’t have to worry about gifts.
I’m not saying your tradition needs to be that… but set the expectation so there is no question or disappointment when it gets to the day.
Maybe it’s watching a certain movie and cooking your favorite meal, or going out to a certain restaurant and exchanging cards, maybe it’s leaving one small surprise for each other, maybe it’s listening to your favorite band and baking cookies… whatever it is, it’s an easy way to make sure that day is exactly what you both want.
Traditions are fun. Start one for Valentine’s Day! You’ll be happy you did.
In fact, make time this Valentine’s Day to plan what your tradition will be so you can start next year!
And, if that doesn’t satisfy you and you want an epic – laugh out loud – idea… follow the lead of this lady:
