IN THIS PODCAST: JJ Gordon & Amy Iler run down the “See it, stream it, skip it’s”… in case you’re sick.
While there are illnesses going around our buildings, and JJ was out for 4 days last week, we figured he had caught up on a few shows while he was away. So, here is a Monday version of a Friday segment!

I, Tonya. The story of Tonya Harding. Not just her involvement in the clubbing of Nancy Kerrigan, but who she was growing up. She was from a poor family. She made her own skating costumes and was ostracized by the skating community because she was a, quote, redneck. While it doesn’t excuse anything – it does paint an different picture for me. For example, the first US female skater to land a triple axel in competition. Married to an abusive husband and daughter to a woman who used cruelty as a tool when raising her daughter. Margot Robbie has earned a Best Actress nomination for her portrayal of Tanya Harding and Allison Janney a Best Supporting nomination for playing Tonya’s mom.

On Netflix – “Schitt’s Creek”. It’s a Canadian series about an extremely wealthy family who loses everything and is let with only one asset. The deed to a town they bought as a joke. They move to this small town and have to learn how to adjust. They can’t cook – something as simple as the phrase “fold in the cheese” in a recipe is beyond their grasp – they can’t relate to the locals and they can’t wait to get the heck out of there. Three full seasons are on Netflix. It stars Eugene Levy (of SCTV and American Pie fame) and his real life son Daniel Levy. Plus rounding out the Rose family is Catherine O’Hara who has starred in many things with Levy – their chemistry is amazing and Annie Murphy plays their vapid daughter Alexis. Sweet, relatable and incredibly funny. Just be careful about saying the name out loud at the water cooler!

Den of Thieves, yuck. No way. I will see anything with Gerard Butler, but this piece of garbage was the toughest thing I have had to sit through in a long time. Overly long – seemed like a 4 hour feature.
