Sophie Nelson is Miss Frazee’s “Outstanding Teen” and she’s taking the opportunity to educate others on the dangers of distracted driving.
Her platform hits close to home.
On July 13th, 2011 our lives were changed forever. Our mom was hit by a distracted driver. He was on his phone and hit our mom head on. She was hospitalized and in ICU because her lungs were starting to collapse. But it was her right foot received the most damage. It was dislocated and several bones were broken. She had five major surgeries on her right foot and spent 7 1/2 months in casts and on crutches.
