Fargo’s city election on June 12th, 2018 was one of the worst turn outs for voters in recent memory. A small percentage of the population went to the polls – you’ll be shocked by the numbers Cass County Auditor Mike Montplaisir provides some hard data about what age groups are voting and what groups are not.
The conversation rests around “Why aren’t people voting?” It’s not just the youth or those who don’t own property or those who are at the lake. This election showed a solid, across the board, lack of all demographics coming out to vote. Was it fatigue from the last presidential election or maybe a daunting ballot with so many folks running?
KFGO received a call from a listener who engages with the topic and gives his two cents about what should or could be done. Aaron seems to be a citizen who is questioning why more people didn’t show up and what can be done to turn that around.
