I was headed out to have dinner with my sister recently and walked by a rather striking vehicle in the parking lot. My first thought was, “WHOA! That looks like a ‘Mad Max’ car!” The whole thing looked like it was inside out. You can tell by the pictures, this beauty had some real character. Then, the plot thickens….
My timing was perfect, because a young man just happened to show up and stick a key into the door lock. I introduced myself and he told me his name was Dusty. Dusty explained that he didn’t build the car – only the piece acting as the hood – but had purchased this car on eBay for $1,000.00. His father was also in the parking lot and yelled “Sell it!” from the comfort of a truck…that was not inside out.
It gets better. I told him it reminded me of ‘Mad Max’ and he responded, “It should. It was featured in a Super Bowl commercial that parodied ‘Mad Max’ from a few years ago. I saw it online, it was only $1,000, so I bought it.”
I did some digging and I found the commercial. I am fairly certain it is the car parked behind the hero’s vehicle on the right…
